My Health Service Navigator

A brief intro

The NHS is a wonderful service, but it can be difficult to know which forms, phone calls, and appointments need to be made to get the healthcare you need out of it. New and future NHS workers also find it hard to understand.

MyHSN – Health Service Navigator – aims to tell you exactly how the system works, and get the best out of it, to your advantage. It was launched in November 2022. There are over 1100 articles and news (and rising). There are three new articles and at least one news article per week.

Who we're for

The general public

MyHSN is primarily for the general public. In this way, its aim is to provide all people in the UK with advice on the processes of the NHS (i.e. how it works) and how to use it better, and information about diseases written for patients.

Health professionals in training

It is also for a second audience: health professionals in training. This includes: A level students (thinking of working in the NHS) – especially those from a non-medicine/science background; medical and other health professional students (nurses, all AHPs (allied health professionals), physician associates (PAs), advanced clinical practitioners (ACPs) etc); and, junior doctors and other qualified junior health professionals.

Who we are

All website content is written and reviewed by the following health professionals who work in the NHS. All articles are reviewed at least yearly.
