QOF contains four domains:
- Clinical: 57 indicators across 20 clinical areas (e.g. chronic kidney disease, heart failure, hypertension)
- Public health: five indicators across three clinical areas – blood pressure, obesity and smoking
- Public health – additional services: two indicators related to cervical cancer screening
- Quality improvement: four indicators related to early cancer diagnosis and care of people with learning disabilities.
They are changed regularly to change the emphasis of preventative medicine.
